Q. What does Elite Repeats sell?
A. At Elite Repeats it is our pleasure to sell a wide variety of antique porcelains, collectibles and fine art. We specialize in fine antique Japanese porcelain such as Nippon and Noritake, also European antique porcelain like R.S. Prussia and Limoges.

Q. What is Nippon?
A. Nippon is porcelain made in Japan between 1891 and 1921. Best stated, Nippon is actually an era and was made by many different companies. Typically, a Nippon piece of porcelain will have the word "Nippon" included in its mark or backstamp. In 1921 the USA asked Japan to no longer use the word Nippon on its exports to America, but instead to substitute the word "Japan" or the phrase "Made in Japan". Hence, most likely, any porcelain from Japan with the word "Japan" on it is not Nippon. Most Nippon was made for the Western market and very little of it remained in Japan. Today there are over 350 recognized authentic Nippon marks or backstamps.

Q. What is Noritake?
A. Noritake is porcelain made in Japan after 1921. All Noritake was made by the Noritake Company. Not all Noritake is old,for Noritake is still made today. Most desirable to collectors is Noritake made from 1921 to the 1940s. Art Deco Noritake is especially desirable and was manufactured in the 20s and 30s. There are more than 80 Noritake marks or backstamp that date prior to 1941.

Q. What is Limoges?
A. Limoges is a variety of fine porcelain manufactured in the region of Limoges, France, and has been manufactured by many different companies for many centuries.

Q. What is Wedgwood porcelain?
A. Wedgwood porcelain is made in England by the Wedgwood Company, founded by
Josiah Wedgwood in 1759.

Q. What is Meiseen?
A. Meiseen is a delicate porcelain ware originally made in Meissen, Germany.

Q. What is Mikasa?
A. Mikasa is an upscale line of china made in Japan during the 20th and 21st century.

Q. What is R.S.Prussia?
A. R.S.Prussia porcelain wares were made by the Reinhold Schlegelmilch porcelain factory located in Suhl in the Germanic regions know as "Prussia" prior to World War I.

Q. What is Royal Doulton?
A. Royal Doulton is an old English china company which still produces fine china wares.

Q. What is Japan made?
A. Made in Japan porcelain is fancy ware made in Japan after 1921, which
was the date that ended the Nippon era. Noritake usually is not included
in the "Made in Japan" grouping.

Q. Does Elite Repeats grade the condition of an item?
A. We sometimes use a scale of 1 to 10 to grade the condition of our auction items. 10 is Mint, perfect, like new, and 1 is awful, damaged, bent, broken, etc. I seriously doubt if you will every see me list an item that has a rating of less than 8. We believe this numerical scale to be a more accurate and honest method, rather than just stating "the condition is outstanding" or "the condition is excellent", or "there is little wear", or "there is some wear", and so forth. We want you
to have the best, most accurate and honest description possible.
